Author

David’s first book was published in 1954.  The title was: Fasting – a neglected discipline’.  The subject of fasting could hardly be described as popular, for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, this book has never been out of print, and is still in demand, as well as being listed as a 'Christian classic’.  It is on library shelves in towns and cities worldwide, as well as being sold on Amazon and Ebay.  Since then, David has written many books, on a number of subjects, together with several booklets, lots of leaflets, hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, and also produced some interesting video films, on important subjects.  A list is given on the next page (for which please click on the 'Books' button above).

David’s books were written David Rushworth-Smith Book Signingspecifically for poor pastors, who have to work long hours in paddy fields or factories (as well as care for their congregations) in overseas countries. His special style of study books has greatly assisted them in their ministry.  For this reason, the titles may not attract some readers in Westernised countries. Nevertheless, these publications have been a great help to thousands of pastors, and have assisted in the creation of many lively churches worldwide.

Over the years, more and more of the titles have been purchased and read in Europe, Australia, Asia, Canada, Africa, New Zealand, and America, as their value became apparent. David’s publications can be ordered through any town or city bookshop, the various Internet bookshops, or from the author direct (see the 'Contact Us' page).

In August 1950, when David was assisting refugees in Berlin, and during a visit to a church there, he became aware that his David in Nagalandfuture would be closely connected with literature.     In 1954, he realised that one part of his ministry would be to donate books to poor pastors overseas, on an individual basis.  This ministry was gathered into a registered charity, which grew into an extensive organisation – supplying large quantities of books to those who live in remote places.  Also, David has sent thousands of books to overseas prisons, and small town libraries. Although that charitable organisation is now closed, the story of this extensive ministry can be obtained by writing to David via the form on the last page (that is, the one entitled 'Contact Us).
