Counsellor, Correspondent, Social Carer, & FRIEND OF ARTISTS
Counsellor
During his life, David has been asked to advise many who were not able to understand why life was apparently treating them badly. Although not specifically trained as a professional ‘counsellor’, and not associated with any media ‘counselling experts’, David has given helpful advice to large numbers of people, of all ages, since 1955. All the way through, he has based his advice on the Holy Scriptures, and particularly on the recorded life and sayings of the Saviour. His book ‘Watching the Saviour at Work’ explains this style of counselling, and gives illustrations.
Correspondent
In large numbers, people have been writing to David since he was a
teenager, explaining their problems, and asking for prayer. His replies, over the years, make for fascinating reading. He has been a ‘personal chaplain’ to thousands worldwide, without ever meeting them. His letters can be long, and may not always carry the kind of answer which was anticipated! He has never been afraid to be honest with those who hoped for an answer which suited them better. David’s letters will never be published, but many people have confided that they have kept them safe, in order to read them David with the leaders of an

using E-mail messages, and other methods.
Social Carer
Despite a busy life, and a family of three children (together with six grandchildren), David has found time to care for those who needed help. In his life, he has been a ‘Good Samaritan’ to dozens of people. Some were brought into his home, in a dying condition for personal care, whilst others have been assisted in their own homes. Many of these have been elderly, because David has always linked himself to clubs for the elderly, senior citizens luncheon clubs, and housing associations for old people. However, many young people have also received his care, because of the youth clubs he has led and organised.
Whilst leading a church, writing books, sending out parcels of literature, corresponding with needy folk, assisting immigrants, travelling overseas, leading tours, and writing columns, he has still found time to care for one after another needy person, with (amazingly) daily visits.

A Friend of many Artists
For many years, David has been a friend of those who love traditional art. He has encouraged them in many ways, and arranged helpful openings for those he has taken 'under his wing'. David has been a personal friend of some eminent 20th century artists, including the late Charles Clixby Watson (1906-1964).
